1. Ground Turkey

Lean and packed with flavor, ground turkey is a lighter alternative to beef that still brings big taco-night energy. It's perfectly seasoned with chili powder, cumin, and smoked paprika for a bold, savory base.

2. Nacho Cheese Sauce

Creamy, melty, and just a little spicy—nacho cheese sauce adds that gooey richness that pulls everything together. It gives each bite a comforting, cheesy hit that takes this crunchwrap over the top.

3. Tostada Shells

This is where the crunch comes in. Tostada shells layered in the center give that signature crispy texture, breaking up the richness and keeping every bite exciting.

4. Cilantro-Lime Crema

Tangy, herby, and zesty, this crema is made with sour cream, lime juice, garlic, and fresh cilantro. It cuts through the richness of the cheese and turkey and brightens the whole dish up.

5. Flour Tortillas

The foundation that holds it all together. Large flour tortillas are soft, sturdy, and perfect for wrapping into that golden, shareable crunchwrap. They get crisp and golden in the oven while staying tender inside.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1. Make the turkey filling: Heat the olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and bell pepper and cook until softened, about 3 to 4 minutes. Add the ground turkey and cook, breaking it up, until browned, 6 to 8 minutes.

Step 2. Season the filling: Stir in the chili powder, salt, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Add the diced tomato and water. Simmer for 1 to 2 minutes until well combined and slightly thickened. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 3. Make the cilantro-lime crema: In a bowl, mix together the sour cream, chopped cilantro, lime juice, garlic, and salt. Stir until smooth. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.

Step 4. Prep the sheet pan: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a broiler-safe half-sheet pan with parchment and coat with cooking spray. Arrange 7 tortillas overlapping around the pan, letting the edges hang over. Brush with melted butter or oil.

Step 5. Layer the base: Spread nacho cheese sauce evenly on the tortilla base. Add the turkey filling in an even layer. Top with tostada shells, then sprinkle on the shredded cheese. Drizzle 3 tablespoons of the crema over the cheese.

Step 6. Fold and press: Place the 8th tortilla in the center. Fold the overhanging tortillas in toward the middle to seal. Gently press down to flatten. Place another parchment-lined pan on top and weigh it down with a cast-iron skillet.

Step 7. Bake and broil: Bake for 20 minutes. Remove the top pan, brush the top with butter or oil, and broil for about 2 minutes until golden and crisp. Let rest for 5 minutes.

Step 8. Slice and top:

Slice into 8 squares. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, avocado slices, pickled red

Sheet-Pan Turkey Crunchwrap

This family-style crunchwrap is a fun, flavorful twist on taco night. It’s packed with seasoned ground turkey, sautéed peppers and onions, layers of nacho cheese, shredded cheese, crispy tostada shells, and a tangy cilantro-lime crema. Baked on a sheet pan until golden and crisp, it’s perfect for sharing and loaded with all your favorite Tex-Mex flavors.

Ingredients:

Turkey Filling:

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 small yellow onion, diced (about 1 cup)
1 medium bell pepper, diced (about 1 cup)
1½ pounds ground turkey
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon ground cumin
½ teaspoon smoked paprika
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 tomato, diced (about 1 cup)
3 tablespoons water

Cilantro-Lime Crema:

½ cup sour cream
¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
Juice of 1 lime (about 2 tablespoons)
1 garlic clove, minced
Kosher salt, to taste

Assembly:

Cooking spray
8 large (10-inch) flour tortillas, divided
2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter or olive oil, plus more for brushing
1 cup nacho cheese sauce
2 cups shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese blend
6 round tostada shells
2 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
2 medium roma tomatoes, diced
1 avocado, sliced
½ cup pickled red onions
Chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions:

Make the turkey filling:
Heat the olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and bell pepper and sauté for 3 to 4 minutes until softened. Add the ground turkey and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until fully browned, 6 to 8 minutes. Stir in the chili powder, salt, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Add the diced tomato and water. Simmer for 1 to 2 minutes until well combined and the liquid has reduced. Remove from heat and set aside.

Make the cilantro-lime crema:
In a medium bowl, stir together the sour cream, cilantro, lime juice, garlic, and salt until smooth. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.

Assemble the crunchwrap base:
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a half-sheet pan with parchment paper and coat with cooking spray. Arrange 7 tortillas around the edges of the pan, overlapping so the centers are covered and the edges hang over the sides. Place 1 additional tortilla in the center if needed. Brush tortillas lightly with melted butter or olive oil.

Layer the fillings:
Spread the nacho cheese sauce over the tortilla base. Spoon the turkey mixture evenly on top. Add a layer of tostada shells, breaking as needed to cover the surface. Sprinkle the shredded cheese blend over the tostadas. Drizzle 3 tablespoons of the crema over the cheese.

Fold and bake:
Place the final tortilla in the center and fold the overhanging tortillas up and over to enclose the filling. Press gently to flatten. Top with another parchment-lined sheet pan and place a cast-iron skillet on top to weigh it down. Bake for 20 minutes.

Broil and finish:
Remove the top pan and skillet. Brush the top of the crunchwrap with more melted butter or oil. Increase the oven temperature to broil and broil for about 2 minutes, watching closely, until golden brown and crisp. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Serve:
Cut into 8 squares. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sliced avocado, pickled red onions, remaining crema, and chopped cilantro.

Tips:

  1. Use a cast-iron skillet or heavy baking dish to weigh down the crunchwrap so it bakes evenly and holds together.
  2. Swap out ground turkey for ground beef or plant-based meat for a different twist.
  3. Prep the turkey filling and crema a day in advance for a faster dinner the next day.

Let’s Talk Ingredients: The Stars of This Crunchwrap!

When it comes to comfort food with a twist, this Sheet-Pan Turkey Crunchwrap delivers big flavor and texture in every bite. Here’s what makes each component shine:

1. Ground Turkey
Leaner than beef but still packed with flavor, ground turkey is seasoned with a bold spice mix that gives it a savory, taco-style kick. It’s the heart of the crunchwrap and the reason it satisfies.

2. Nacho Cheese Sauce
Creamy, melty, and nostalgic, nacho cheese adds a layer of richness that ties everything together. It melts into the tostadas and adds a gooey contrast to the crisp exterior.

3. Tostada Shells
These give the crunchwrap its signature crunch. Layered in the center, they stay crispy inside while the outside bakes to golden perfection. Every bite has that satisfying snap.

4. Cilantro-Lime Crema
Cool, zesty, and herby, this sauce cuts through the richness and adds a fresh, tangy finish. It’s perfect drizzled inside and on top before serving.

5. Fresh Toppings
Shredded lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, and pickled onions bring color, crunch, and brightness. They turn this from just a wrap into a complete, shareable meal that feels fresh and indulgent all at once.

Cooking hacks and tips

  • Brushing the tortillas with butter or oil before baking helps them crisp up golden and flaky.

  • Use a second sheet pan and a heavy skillet to weigh down the crunchwrap while baking for that signature flat, even crunch.

  • Add jalapeños or hot sauce to the crema for an extra spicy kick if your crew likes heat.
